Drunk dad jailed for ‘worst case of disorder ever seen’ on flight from Spain to UK

A 31-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 13 months after a shocking drunken incident on a Jet2 flight from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria to Newcastle on January 10.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how father of one, Stephen McGee, was unhappy about a delay prior to take-off and told other passengers he was “getting p*ssed off.”

The crew refused to serve McGee alcohol prior to take-off but, once the plane was in the air, the court was told he downed three cans of beer and a small bottle of wine.

McGee threatened his wife and another passenger in an ugly incident that cabin crew described as the ‘worst case of disorder’ they had ever seen.

The drunk dad was arrested by police when the flight landed in Newcastle.

McGee admitted being drunk on board an aircraft, behaving in a threatening, abusive or insulting manner towards cabin crew and obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

He was sentenced to 13 months imprisonment.
