SPAIN’S national Met Office, AEMET, has blanketed much of the country in warnings for strong winds, heavy rain, high coastal waters or snow tomorrow (Wednesday).
It will bring an abrupt end to an unseasonably mild winter for many parts of the country including the traditional holiday hotspots of Marbella on the Costa del Sol and Benidorm on the Costa Blanca.
The arrival of a “very active” cold front is set to hit the Spanish peninsula later today and will be experienced in some areas though until Thursday.
The full list of warnings can be found below (scroll down) but includes the following provinces across the whole of the country and the Balearic Islands too.
Andalucía: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and Sevilla
Aragón: Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza
Cantabria: Cantabria
Castilla-La Mancha: Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara and Toledo
Castilla y León: Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid and Zamora
Cataluña: Lleida
Ciudad de Ceuta: Ceuta
Comunidad de Madrid: Madrid
Comunidad Foral de Navarra: Navarra
Comunitat Valenciana: Alacant/Alicante
Extremadura: Badajoz and Cáceres
Galicia: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra
Illes Balears: Ibiza y Formentera and Menorca
La Rioja: La Rioja
País Vasco: Araba/Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa
Principado de Asturias: Asturias
Región de Murcia: Murcia
