UK MPs have voted to tell PM Theresa May to ask the EU to delay Brexit by 412 voted to 202.
Mrs May says this could mean a delay of three months before the UK quits.
However the EU – all other 27 states – will have to agree to any extension to article 50.
The motion that was passed says that if a Brexit plan is agreed by Parliament by March 20 the delay will be until June 30 – if not it would probably involve a longer period.
That would mean the UK taking part in upcoming European elections.
