Macabre find by girls playing in abandoned hotel basement in Spain

A CHILDREN’S game ended in a macabre find when two girls found the body of a man in the basement of the ruined Lagomar de la Manga Hotel.

The girls – whose ages have not been released – had entered the building on an exploration trip and made their way to a basement.

There they found the body of a middle-aged man. Local police were called who notified the Guardia Civil who have started an investigation.

Early indications are the man had died after a blow to the head, with police saying he appeared to have died after hitting his head in an accidental fall.

A post mortem examination will be carried out.
