EMERGENCY SERVICES in Spain’s Canary Islands have confirmed that an unidentified man died after a paragliding accident yesterday evening (Tuesday).
The 112 co-ordination centre said that the accident happened in the Risco Blanco area of Puerto Naos in the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane on La Palma.
Because the area was difficult to access the GES rescue helicopter was scrambled to the seriously injured man who was in cardiorespiratory arrest.
Resuscitation attempts were made while transferring him to hospital but his death was later confirmed.
