POLICE have arrested one man and allegedly seized 248 marijuana plants from a house in Velez-Malaga.
Officers from the National Police claimed the 22-year-old had been using three bedrooms of a house as a laboratory for growing cannabis.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and electricity fraud. In addition to confiscating the alleged marijuana plants, police reportedly also seized lamps, extractors, air conditioners, fans, transformers, and light bulbs.
Their investigation began after police received a tip about a possible cannabis farm at a building in Vilanova. Following further inquiries, officers reportedly identified the house, claiming it gave off a strong smell of marijuana and was illegally connected to the electricity grid.
Police later found the local man allegedly responsible for the property before arresting him.
