IN THIS modern world filled with work, travel, and family commitments, we may often find ourselves lacking in time to do all the things we mean to.

While taking time for ourselves is vital for our wellbeing and mental health, luckily when we are really pushed for time there are some shortcuts we can take.

Before an important event, fix skin that is dull or lacking in radiance in one minute with Ren’s Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial (€32.30 for 75ml, www.primor.eu). This mask contains vitamin C and can be let to fight signs of fatigue while you get dressed to reveal fresh, glowing skin.

Keep the brightening effects going by moisturising afterwards with Bybi’s 100 per cent Cold Pressed Buriti Oil (£12/€13.80, www.bybi.com) which contains antioxidants to fight off external aggressors, including pollution and UV rays.

Next, knock time off makeup application with an effective primer such as Wander Beauty’s Smooth Sailing Perfecting Primer (£33/€37.95 for 30g, www.net-a-porter.com). Containing vitamin C and gold to minimise pores and blur imperfections, reducing the time taken up with applying foundation, concealer, and powder.

Now reduce the need to touch up makeup later as well as reducing oiliness or shine with Boscia’s White Charcoal Mattifying Setting Spray (€34.95 for 50ml, www.sephora.es).  Particularly effective in hot weather when makeup has a tendency to slide and oiliness can set in, this product could save time on reapplying makeup throughout the day.

Finally, quickly add volume to hair that is looking limp or tired after a long day and before an evening event with Herbivore’s Sea Mist Texturising Salt Spray (£10/€11.50 for 60ml, www.spacenk.com) which promises to add texture or waves. Scented with coconut, vanilla, and lime, this product can also infuse hair with a just-washed smell.
