SPAIN’S national state Met Office has issued the highest level of severe weather warning for the Costa Blanca tonight (Sunday) through until the early hours of Monday morning.

The highest ‘extreme risk’ level weather alert for torrential rain will remain in place until 6 am tomorrow.

Many surrounding areas and the Balearic Islands will also be on orange or yellow alerts for high coastal waters and strong winds through until 6pm.

Weekend rain has already seen some record rain fall on Spain’s east coast with Torrevieja particularly badly affected.
