A 74-YEAR-OLD man has died after being rammed by a 520-kilo bull called ‘Campanito’ during an event in southern Spain.
The man suffered a punctured lung, as well as several broken ribs and vertebrae from the second bull at the Toro Embolao of Vejer (Cadiz) in Andalucia.
Juan José Varo, a local man, was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Puerto Real hospital following the incident on Easter Sunday but has since passed away.
The town mayor said that it was an unfortunate accident, since the man always saw the bull in that area, and always behind the protective barrier.
Paramedics at the scene also had to treat a woman who fainted at the scene of the incident and another man who was injured by the same bull.
