BENIDORM BALCONY DEATH: Kirsty Maxwell's family appeal for witnesses to come forward

THE family of a Scottish woman has put out a new appeal for witnesses who stayed in the apartment complex where she died and at the neighbouring Hotel Presidente to come forward.
Kirsty Maxwell, 27, was killed when she fell from a 10th floor balcony at the Apartamentos Payma in Benidorm in the early hours of April 29, 2017.
The flat she fell from was occupied by five men from Nottingham at the time. She had been on a hen weekend to celebrate a friend’s wedding.
Police investigations have so far failed to come up with answers the family needs to explain the tragedy, so they have brought in their own investigators who have been in Benidorm to try to unearth new evidence.
Now the family has asked on Facebook for anyone who was staying in the apartments and the Hotel Presidente which overlooks the tragic scene to get in touch.
They say that they know there are people who were there who have not come forward, possibly because they don’t think their information is relevant or that they assume investigators already know what they witnessed. But the new appeal says that any pieces of the jigsaw, no matter how small, could be of great help.
They would like to see any mobile phone video footage or photos from the time and any information concerning a large group of men from Nottingham. They also want to hear from anyone who saw Kirsty and/or her friends – they were all wearing pink shirts.
The team said: “We know there are people out there who have yet to come forward with information that could assist us as a family getting closer to the truth. Please help us.”
Investigator David Swindle said: “It is shocking that Kirsty’s family have had to keep pushing and pushing for answers and basic lines of enquiry to be progressed.
“We know there were people at Hotel Presidente and Payma Apartments with information which can assist. Some of our team will be speaking to tourists and locals in the hope of jogging people’s memories.”
