A MAN is on life support after being hit by a car when jogging with his son while on a family holiday in Malaga.
39-year-old Haydn Atwood, from Caerphilly (South Wales), was the victim of a horrific accident on the first day of a trip with his girlfriend and son.
According to British press, Mr. Atwood was jogging down the side of a hill with his 17-year-old son Ashley before tripping and falling into the path of an oncoming car when he was flung into the air.
He was rushed to the Clinico Universitario Hospital by emergency services, where he is on a ventilator with horrific injuries.
As reported by WalesOnline, Haydn’s sister Hailey said: “He had to be resuscitated on the side of the road. He had internal bleeding but he’s had surgery and they managed to stop the bleeding inside.
“But he also had a bleed on the brain and his skull is fractured on one side. He’s on life support and he’s got a tube down his throat. His organs are damaged from the impact.
“He’s in a bad way.”
Haydn’s family explained that they were surprised to discover that he did not have holiday insurance.
“I couldn’t believe it when I was told,” Hailey said. “He hasn’t got travel insurance, so getting him home could prove be costly.”
The shocking accident reportedly took place on Tuesday May 14.
