SLOW DOWN!: Spain’s Mercedes-Benz manager sentenced to one year in prison after high speed race accident

THE General Manager of Mercedes-Benz in Spain has been sentenced to one year’s jail after he was involved in an accident while racing against his son on a public road.

Emilio Titos overtook another car at high speed and caused an accident that “endangered the life” of another driver in Herrera (Alva). His son, who was driving another sports car at the time was cleared as he was not involved in the accident.

Titos has also been banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay €17,762 compensation to the insurance company of the other driver in the accident.
