A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded between Spain’ Gran Canaria and Tenerife in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday May 22.
According to the National Geographic Institute, the tremor had a depth of 24 kilometres in an area known as the Enmedio Volcano.
The quake took place at around 7:45am.
This type of seismological activity is quite common in the Canary Islands due to its geographical location.
