More than 50 people from the Guardia Civil, Civil Protection
volunteers from Mijas, Torremolinos and Fuengirola, fire fighters and
the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre joined the search for the
pensioner who had been missing since Sunday.

They were combing the countryside in five areas around Mijas Pueblo

activated a search programme to try to find Mr Jones.

An advanced command post was set up near Mijas cemetery on Monday,
which coordinated the search over the next few days.

Mr Jones, who had dementia and had recently started to get confused,

with his wife Barbara for the past 15 years in a property just
opposite the town hall.
