EMERGENCY services are scouring the coastline of a Spanish resort for a British man who disappeared after going for a jet-ski ride on Saturday (June 15).

The 23-year-old man, who has not been named but has been confirmed as British, disappeared from the Palm Mar beach a few kilometres from the popular resort of Los Cristianos to the south of the Canary Island of Tenerife.

Divers have been joined by rescue boats and helicopters as the sea and shore are searched for any sign of the missing man.

The jet-ski itself has been found and it is thought the man, who was wearing red shorts at the time, may have jumped off to go for a swim.

British Consular officials are helping and providing support to the man’s family and friends while the search continues.
