The boat was south of Mallorca, seven miles from Port Adriano, in El Toro (Calvià). Maritime Rescue (Salvamento Marítimo) sent rescue boat Salvamar Acrux to the scene.
The crew had initially managed to quell the fire, but it flared up again when the yacht was being towed to port.

The flames were finally put out at around 6.55 am. No one was hurt in the incident.
The ‘UM7’ is a luxury Sunseeker Predator 92 yacht built in 2008 and is owned by a rental company in Evissa, and sails under the Spanish flag.
