Couple ambushed in lift, tied up and robbed in Torremolinos

A COUPLE suffered a terrible ordeal when they were ambushed in a lift, marched to their home, tied up, gagged and then robbed in Torremolinos.

Now three men between the ages of 20 and 36 have been arrested in Jaen accused of the assault that happened two months ago in Torremolinos.

Police say the assailants, who were hooded and armed with knives, waited for the couple inside the lift. After threatening, assaulting and intimidating them, the gang fled with €2,500 in cash, several mobile phones, a luxury watch and jewellery.

The male victim needed treatment for a 20cm wound to his arm.

After a long investigation police identified three suspects and made four house searches in the province of Jaen. They seized cash, knives, a luxury watch and other items.
