Dog rescued from scorching balcony in Mallorca

FIREFIGHTERS were called in to rescue a dog that had accidently been trapped on a balcony in Mallorca in the full glare of the sun.
Local Police called in Palma (Mallorca) firemen to help reach the pooch, which was stuck on a fourth-floor balcony and appeared to be suffering from heat exhaustion.
The canine had spent all morning in the sun in the midst of the present heatwave. The animal was rescued and taken to a vet with symptoms of heat stroke.
Police remind people that it is important to ensure that pets are kept in shade in a cool spot with plenty of water available.
