A National Police van was shot at on Saturday afternoon (June 29) whilst on a routine patrol of the area of Cueta.
The van was part of the Unit of Prevention and Reaction (UPR) and was making its patrols around the area of Principe de Cueta when shots were fired into the air.
A further shot was then aimed at the van which damaged the lower part of the side panel. There were no reported injuries were sustained.
Police reportedly retaliated with warning shots at which time the perpetrators fled the scene.
A full investigation is now underway and a forensic analysis of the bullet in the van is being carried out to identify the type of weapon used and to try to determine the shooters’ identities.
