Taylor Powell, 4 years old, was on holiday with her family in Santa Susanna near Barcelona.
She threw the bottle overboard with a picture of herself inside plus a note saying “If you find this picture, please respond with a name of your country and a picture.”
Months later her family was shocked to receive a reply from a Russian couple Alex and Sasha.
Taylor’s father replied asking for proof and a pin of their location and was shocked to find the bottle had made its way to Moscow.
He said when he told Taylor someone had replied to the message, her face completely lit up, she was so happy.
Taylor’s dad asked the couple to send proof and received a pin of their location to his phone. He added that “we told Taylor that her bottle will pass by mermaids and sharks – for it to turn up in Moscow is magical for her.”
Experts from the National Oceanography Centre believe the bottle has travelled up around Portugal, Ireland, Scotland and across the North Sea.
