BRUTAL: Taxi driver was killed after blows to the head
POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a taxi driver was brutally killed and his body partially set fire to in Tenerife (Spain).
The body of the 64-year-old man was found in the underground garage of an apartment block he and his partner had moved into just a few days previously.
Guardia Civil in the town of Granadilla de Abona say he had died from blows to the head. They added that an attempt had been made to burn the body, probably to hide the cause of death, but the flames had only touched his legs.
An attempt had also been made to clean the site of the crime, with numerous empty bottles of cleaning fluids and bleach left scattered around the scene.
The victim’s private car, which was parked close by appeared to have blood on its bonnet.
The corpse was discovered by a neighbour who called police, with the victim’s partner identifying the body soon after.
