A fire that broke out in the Lomo de Flamencos/Valtocado area of Mijas (Malaga) was extinguished last night at around 4 am (July 14).
Thirty firefighters had been sent to the scene and one helicopter was scrambled.
A thick plume of black smoke had been visible from the coast and several kilometres away.
It was been a busy day for firefighters in Andalucia. A major blaze in Terque (Almeria) is still being tackled with 18 aircraft and 90 ground personnel dispatched to combat the flames.
Another fire in Motril (Granada) was extinguished yesterday with the help of two aircraft and seven firefighters on the ground.
