ENGLAND are cricket world champions. But only just.
The England and Wales cricket team managed to overcome New Zealand in a Super Over following the teams tying the final
New Zealand had looked to be about 20 runs light at the end of their innings, but an impressive bowling display saw them pull England back. A tricky pitch where the ball didn’t ‘come on’ made ‘heavy scoring’ difficult.
They fell one run short and so the match was tied, and had to go to a tie breaker which England won.
New Zealand had to score 16 tuns in six balls, but they fell short.
