A 20-month-old baby has died after falling from a height of four floors. The accident occurred in the Biscayan town of Güeñes in the family home on Mulikar Street.
The Basque Department of Security reported the event happened around 1.30pm on Sunday. Emergency services arrived at the scene just before 4pm but they were unsuccessful in their attempts to revive the baby.
Health workers and an Osakidetza helicopter attended the site of the accident. The helicopter did not attempt to move the child or transport the baby to hospital.
The strong impact suffered has been confirmed as the cause of death.
