A man has been arrested in Zamora, Spain after allegedly uploading sexual photographs of his ex girlfriend on the internet.
The case is further complicated as the images were taken years ago when the victim was a minor.
An investigation was carried out by the Family and Women’s Care Unit (UFAM) of the Zamora Police after the victim lodged a complaint after finding the images online through a third party.
The distribution of images of this nature without the persons consent carries a prison term of up to one year as well as compensation to the victim for moral damages.
The Zamora Police pointed out that the crime is “particularly difficult to manage as once the photos are online they are then public property and can be shared an infinite number of times.”
