A MUNICIPAL park worker has been left traumatised after discovering the body of a man at a park in Aviles in the Oviedo region of Spain.
The grim discovery was reported by park worker Ángeles Gómezas he was working a morning shift.
“I was picking up trash from the park, near a tree there was a bottle, I went to pick it up and there I saw two legs, a short man, with a strong build and wearing shorts, lying in a very strange position, it seemed that he was sleeping but next to him there was a syringe case.”
He reported the find to the police who were there within minutes but could do nothing more than confirm the deceased and the man’s identity.
It has been reported that the man was in his mid 40’s and not of European origin. Circumstances point to the death caused by an overdose but the body has been taken to the Legal Medicine Institute of La Corredoria (Oviedo) for a full autopsy.
Gomez went on to say that it will take him a long time to recover from making the discovery,”I can not get rid of the image of the dead man in my head.”
