THREE men arrested in connection with the stabbing of a Local Police officer on a Huelva Province beach yesterday (Wednesday) will not appear in court on Thursday as originally planned.
The suspects are set to appear before the court tomorrow (Friday) in connection with the Punta Umbria stabbing due to delays in the ongoing probe into the case.
An altercation between Local Police and beach vendors during an inspection to stop the illegal sale of drinks and snacks led to the arrests.
A video posted online appeared to show an argument between vendors and officers becoming violent, leading to a fight.
Senior Local Police inspector Antonio Garrido was stabbed in the abdomen three times during the scuffle.
One of the detainees is suspected of stabbing the officer while the other two are suspected of involvement in the incident.
The wounded officer is currently undergoing treatment at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital. His condition is said to be non-life threatening. The case continues.
