A MAN aged 55 accused of trying to abduct a nine-year-old boy from a children’s playground in Vigo (Spain) has been released by a court on conditional bail.
He was arrested after allegedly grabbing the boy by the arm and led him away with the promise of seeing a toy truck. Luckily a parent saw something suspicious was happening and alerted the boy’s father who raced after them.
The man released the boy and fled, but Local Police were able to find him nearby. He was identified by the boy’s father. A search of the man’s backpack found a knife with a 22cm blade and a laptop with external hard drive.
According to the information given to the officers the detainee had been frequenting the park for a few days, sitting down to watch the children. A Vigo court has opened an investigation but released the man having imposed a restraining order and prohibited him from communicating with the child.
