A bus carrying 45 people has been completely destroyed after a fire broke out on board on a stretch of the AP-7 past Calahonda on Friday morning.
Full details of the fire that was reported by Euro Weekly on Friday have been released by the Guardia Civil Traffico of the incident that occurred at around 11am Friday morning.
The bus was heading towards Tarifa with 45 people of Moroccan nationality on board when the driver noticed that the engine had caught fire.
He quickly pulled over and evacuated everyone on board as the fire quickly engulfed the bus.
Two fire engines from Mijas plus a crew from Marbella were quickly on the scene but they were unable to salvage anything of the stricken vehicle.
Reports state that no one was injured and that a replacement bus was issued to take the passengers to their destination.
