A PROTEST has taken place outside one of the affected nurseries in the municipality of Torrox with 100 protesters giving their backing to workers dismissed after government buy outs.
The protests came after 73 workers from five different nurseries in Andalucia were dismissed after the government took over the ownership of them from private companies.
The union of workers, CCOO, has called for more protests later this month.
Secretary general of the CCOO Deigo Molina has given the group their full backing, saying: “The decision by the Ministry of Education to carry out these dismissals is an act of violence by the Andalucian Government.
“When a company takes over another it must maintain real estate and its templates, including its employees,” he continued.
