A WOMAN has been run over by her own car in Castalla, Alicante, after she got out of the vehicle and it rolled backwards over her.
The 38 year old mother of two was with both her children when she was fatally injured. They were in the car at the time along with a young boy and a baby.
The police reported that the woman had put the handbrake on but for whatever reason it became unhitched and the van began rolling whilst she was behind it.
There were several medical professionals and police officers in the rural area as the annual ‘Festival of the Cows’ was just starting at the time.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the accident was reported by a local farmer but they were unable to save her life.
