A SPANISH woman faces a year in jail or 1 million Kenyan Shilling fine after she was detained for wearing an ivory bangle at Nairobi’s airport.
The 50-year-old was heading to Dar es Salaam when officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport spotted the bangle.
Her arrest came a week after a Frenchwoman was given the maximum fine, which works out at around €8,700, after admitting possession of ivory jewellery.
