REIGNING multiple MotoGP World Champion Marc Marques has playfully challenged five-time Formula One Champion Lewis Hamilton to an on-track duel.
In an interview with the Daily Mail ahead of last weekends British Grand Prix, the fellow five-time champion challenged the Brit to an on-track challenge, firstly on a MotoGP bike then in a Formula one car.
The pair are no strangers to each others machinery. Last year Marques was able to take a Torro Rosso car for a spin around the Red Bull Ring in Austria thanks to his connections with the energy drink brand. Onlookers were impressed with his pace and even threw around the offer of an official transition to F1.
Lewis on the other hand has also a strong interest in motorcycle racing, being a brand ambassador for Italian Marque MV Agusta and even taking a specially tuned Yamaha YZF-R1 for a few laps of Jerez before the start of the WorldSBK season this year.
In an interview, the 26-year-old Marquez said that he would love to see what Hamilton could do and get a chance to measure up to him, “Face-to-face, first an F1 car and then a motorbike because I know he rides,”
It didn’t take Hamilton long to accept his offer so we could see the clash of the titans sometime this year!
