A substantial forest fire has been declared in the La Zagaleta area of Benahavis at 11pm last night by Andalucia’s fire prevention and extinction service Infoca.
A total of around 100 fire fighters as well as officers from the Guardia Civil and The Policia Local are on the scene tackling the blaze that took hold shortly before midnight September 7.
73 Firefighters as well as three environmental agents, two operations technicians, a medical unit and five fire engines have been enlisted to try to get the blaze under control.
