TIMES are booming for the Torremolinos hotel industry, with latest figures showing the sector’s profitability in July was up 30.5 per cent on the same month in 2015.
The average daily rate per night in a hotel room in Torremolinos has gone from €94.59 in July 2015 to €123.51 this year.
A report by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia notes that Torremolinos, which accounts for 40 per cent hotel beds on the Costa del Sol, closed the first seven months of the year with 612,862 hotel guests, 2.7 per cent more than in the same period in 2018.
Statistics show the increase in Spanish tourists from January to July was 8 per cent compared to the same period in 2018, exceeding 239,000 tourists. The number of foreign guests stood at 373,797 for the first seven months of the year.
