Guardia Civil Arrest Police Officer In Drugs Bust

Two people one being a local police officer have been arrested in a drugs bust.

A drugs operation resulted in the two men being arrested in Totana.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of over 22 kilos of marijuana buds prepared for illegal sales.

As well as the buds, also confiscated was over 100 large marijuana fully grown plants over two metres high weighing in over a ton.

The growers attempted to hide their plantation amongst fruit trees surrounded by high fences.

The growers, one a local Police officer aged 51 and his partner 44 also were arrested for tapping into the local electrical grid to feed the plants with continuous light for faster growth.

The property unfortunately for the growers had become under surveillance after reports from locals of drug dealing activities at the property.

The case will now be put forward to the courts of Totana.

Local Major Juan José said the Officer was a disgrace to the Force although he had not been active for two years for a variety of reasons.
