MARBEPOP is back this year for the fourth time and will consist of 12 hours of music and fun for the family this Saturday at the Arroyo de la Represa Park in Marbella.
It’s a free event that will feature concerts, circus shows, magic, workshops, urban art and nature aimed at the entire family and runs from 1pm to 1am.
Originally launched in the 1980s, the concept lay dormant for many years until it was resurrected four years ago and last year’s festival attracted some 3,000 visitors.
Although the bulk of the musical entertainment will be performed by local artists, the net has been expanded to include bands from further afield with an appearance from Malaga band Jarrillo Lata plus another eight bands.
Also of interest will be circus performances by La Banda del Otro and The Crazy Juggler Circus Show and a children’s stage with workshops and 3D cinema, among other activities
All of those thinking of attending are being encouraged by the council to use public transport, bicycles or to walk in order to reduce the carbon footprint although perhaps this may not be the best idea for families with youngsters who might stay until the end.
