CATALAN police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his mother then living with the corpse for 10 days.
The Mossos d’Esquadra detained the 41 year old man who is accused of stabbing his mother in a home they shared Arenys de Mar (Barcelona).
The case is under secret summary, according to sources from the Catalan police, which, for this reason, have not provided any more details of the event.
The man, according to la Vanguardia newspaper, was arrested last Sunday night, and is suspected of killing his mother on September 11. He lived with the corpse until a locksmith arrived to break in after the victim’s family became worried that they had not seen her for several days.
The police have said the man tried to flee through the courtyard of the property before the locksmith noticed the stench.
According to La Vanguardia the woman was the head of a large textile firm, workers of which had called the police when she failed to turn up for work.
