CALPE has decided to join the initiative launched by the Domus Vi Foundation “Kilometres to Remember” which aims to raise money for research into the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
“Kilometres to Remember” is an app in which anyone can join the fight against Alzheimers. To do so, first download the Google Fit app and then the “Kilometres to Remember” application. The two apps will synchronise and will count the steps taken by each person that will become money for Alzheimer’s research. The challenge this year is to register 200,000 km in order for the Domus Vi Foundation to donate €10,000 to the cause.
This initiative has also been joined by various other associations in Calpe and anyone can participate individually or with a team – Calpe already has its own team.
The challenge began on Saturday September 21 for World Alzheimer’s Day, and will end on October 7. There are plenty of beautiful walks around the Costa Blanca so this initiative is the perfect excuse to get out and discover new parts of the region whilst getting some exercise and helping a worthy cause.
