LIVERPOOL bosses are in the process of ironing out documentation issues after an investigation was launched into one of their players by the English Football League.
The investigation is aimed at understanding of an illegible player was fielded in the clubs 2-0 voctory against MK Dons in the Carabao Cup.
It is thought that the player in question is Spanish midfielder Pedro Chirivella, who came off the bench in the 63rd minute of the game on Wednesday.
22 year old Chirivella was placed on loan to Spanish side Extremadura for the second half of last season.
It was his return to the premiership side that has caused complications as the league believes there has been administrative issues that led to him being unable to play.
In a statement by a Liverpool spokesman, “The club are aware of a potential administrative issue pertaining to one of our players,”
“We are working with the relevant authorities in order to establish the facts of the matter and will be making no further comment until this process is complete.”
Although the investigation is in the very early stages, expulsion from the competition could be a possibility if a suitable solution is not found.
