THE Generalitat’s Public Works department allocated €200,000 for improvements to Javea port.
Two contracts were put out to tender to reform a harbour arm, meet accessibility requirements and renew the port’s domestic water network.
Eight bids are now being assessed for the contract which includes reinforcing the “fishermen’s” breakwater and improving existing ramps and steps to meet accessibility requirements.
The port zones that may be used and visited by the public will be marked out, with improvements to pedestrian pathways and a new path to the Posit fishing guild.
Meanwhile the process for awarding the water supply contract has now begun, municipal sources revealed.
