LA NUCIA intends to become the world’s first Smart Sports Tourist Destination (DTI+D).
The installations at the Camilo Cano sports complex won recognition as European Sports Town of 2013 from the European parliament with installations that are a source of prosperity and wellbeing for the municipality.
La Nucia town hall now plans to combine Smart Tourism Destination status with these outstanding facilities that are already attracting Sports Tourism.
The first step will be integration in the Valencian Community’s network of Smart Tourism Destinations with the national network headed by Segittur.
Strategies are currently being coordinated from Lab Nucia, the La Nucia Business Laboratory, with technical assistance from Globaldit, a firm that specialises in tourist transformation, while also calling on Movistar’s experience in the Smart City concept.
This is a global project, La Nucia town hall explained, involving the Tourism, Sports and New Technologies departments in a scheme that will position “La Nucia, Ciudad de Deporte” as a world reference for Smart Sports Tourism.
