FLU vaccinations were at the top of the bill at a meeting held in Velez Malaga last Friday 27 September.
Twenty two experts from the medical field in the region as well as Ministry of Health councillors have discussed a plan to increase the coverage of the 2019/2020 Influenza Vaccination Campaign in Axarquia.
The campaign is due to start on October 28, and will run throughout the following months, providing flu vaccines to residents.
The primary goal of the increased coverage is to improve the percentage of the vulnerable population including the elderly, pregnant women and the chronically ill through additional activities and an improved marketing campaign.
“These actions are fundamentally aimed at improving the image of this vaccination and with it the coverage of the population,” said the Minister of Health and Families, Jesus Aguirre.
