Uncertainty over the United Kingdom’s Brexit withdrawal from the EU is pushing many Spanish residing in the UK  to register as residents.

The figure was recorded in September, a month before the official Boris Johnson Brexit deadline of October 31.

“ Hugh Elliott, the British ambassador in Spain said  in a statement “We want Spaniards who are living in my country to remain there,”

The Spanish government has told the British government that it does not feel that Spaniards in the UK are being offered the same guarantees as Britons in Spain, which homes the most British expats outside the UK.
