A GUARDIA Civil officer was stabbed while intervening in a family quarrel in El Tiemblo in Avila, the Castilla y Leon 112 emergency service reported.
A call to the 112 centre alerted the authorities to the situation at a house in the town, calling for the police to get there, but without being able to confirm whether anyone had been hurt.
Just minutes after a Guardia Civil patrol arrived at the property they put a call through requesting an ambulance for one of their officers who had been knifed.
According to press reports the officer was injured in the neck and shoulders. Press also reported the suspected attacker was arrested.
