Franco Is On The Move This Thursday

The Spanish Government have finally confirmed that the remains of dictator Francisco Franco will be exhumed from the Valley of the Fallen, located northwest of Madrid, this Thursday, October the 24th.

The long-awaited date was announced after Spain’s Supreme Court last month overruled a string of objections from his family, who had tried to halt the exhumation.

The remains of the former Spandictator will be moved to a state cemetery, Mingorrubio El Pardo, some twenty kilometres north of the capital and placed next to those of his wife.

The move has divided opinion in Spain, which is still conflicted over the Dictatorship that ended with Franco’s death back in 1975.
