The Vega Baja Hospital in Orihuela is to provide adult patients having type-one diabetes, with training workshops in the use of a Glucose Flash Monitoring system.

The system uses a sensor to measure glucose levels, which adheres to the skin without puncturing it.

The sensor sends data to a small receiver, which then displays blood glucose levels both on-demand whilst also recording data.

The potential to have real time data can help each patient to optimise metabolic control and diabetes management, by giving greater autonomy and lead to a better quality of life.
