A new surveillance system called “Prevecom” is being launched for businesses in the Torrevieja area, which will utilise Whatsapp groups in an attempt to prevent theft and robbery in the commercial and hospitality sectors.
 
Businesses, restaurants, hoteliers and taxi drivers, as well as the Police force, will be included in the groups.
 
The group will share descriptions and data of suspects and aim to raise awareness in real-time.
 
The intention is to create several localised groups to make the system relevant, effective and powerful in the fight against crime.
