Rescue In Progress Of Man Hanging By His Legs From Top Of 290FT Tower

Cops and emergency services have mounted a major rescue operation to help a man dangling at the top of a 290ft tower in Carlisle after it appears he became stuck there overnight.

Photos and videos from the area shown on twitter- looks like a man hanging by his legs from the top of what’s known as Dixon’s Chimney.

Cops are unsure about how the man-made it up the former cotton mill tower, or why he is there? Cumbria police only saying that they are dealing with an incident.

the police said: “Police are continuing to deal with an incident at Dixon’s Chimney, Carlisle. Officers became aware of a man trapped at height in the area following a call to police”
