MPs will vote later today in the House Of Commons on whether to back Boris Johnson’s call for a general election on 12 December.
The EU will also get together to consider granting a Brexit extension today
Boris Johnson has informed MPs he will give them more time to scrutinise and debate the Brexit deal he agreed with the EU on 21 October on the basis they grant him a general election before Christmas.
